Role Overview:
The Wish Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end wish journey for children in their assigned city. This includes identifying wish children, understanding their wishes, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring the wish is granted smoothly and empathetically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wish Identification:
    • Collaborate with hospitals, doctors, and volunteers to identify eligible wish children.
    • Conduct initial meetings with children and their families to understand their wishes and the emotional significance behind them.
  • Wish Planning and Execution:
    • Document the wish journey details (wish description, child’s story, and emotional impact) in Excel and Salesforce.
    • Plan and coordinate the wish-granting process, ensuring alignment with the child’s desires and foundation guidelines.
    • Work with vendors, volunteers, and internal teams to procure wish items or organize wish-granting events.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, doctors, and volunteers to ensure a steady pipeline of wish children.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for the child and their family throughout the wish journey.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure all wish-related documentation is completed accurately and on time.
    • Adhere to the foundation’s Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and ethical guidelines.
  • Reporting and Feedback:
    • Provide regular updates to the Program Head on wish progress and challenges.
    • Gather feedback from children, families, and stakeholders to improve the wish-granting process.
  • Volunteer Management:
    • Work closely with volunteers to ensure they are effectively engaged in the wish-granting process.
    • Provide volunteers with the necessary training and resources to support wish children.
  • Team Support:
    • Supervise and support Wish Coordinators in their city, ensuring they are aligned with the foundation’s mission and processes.

Key Skills and Qualifications for Both Roles:

  • Strong empathy and emotional intelligence to work with critically ill children and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders (hospitals, doctors, volunteers, vendors, etc.).
  • Organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple wishes simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Salesforce (or willingness to learn).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for the mission of Make a Wish Foundation India.
