THE WISH PROCESS

We fulfil wishes of all eligible children, without any discrimination.

STEP 1 - REFERRAL

As per the international guidelines, the foundation will accept a referral only when it is certified by a medical professional that the child referred to us is suffering from a life-threatening illness. There is a list of life-threatening illnesses, which is used as a guide. The wish children are referred by our doctor partners, working across hospitals.

STEP 2 - ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To have their wish granted, a child needs to be between ages of 3 and 18 years (inclusive), living with a life-threatening critical illness, a resident of India, must be certified and declared eligible by the doctor about his/her medical condition. We grant one wish for a child, so a child shouldn't have received a wish previously in any chapter.

STEP 3 – THE WISH

If the child is eligible, our wish team staff and volunteers will interact with the wish family to complete the necessary details, explain the process and to learn more about the wish child. Once the parents give their consent, we talk to the child to understand their innermost wish. The doctor treating the child approves and the wish team sets out to make it come true.

STEP 4 – GRANTING THE WISH

After the child’ wish is captured and designed, we set out to create a special wish experience for the child that will last a lifetime. Effort is made to include the family in the child’s wish. The wish experience often touches the wish child, and those who either help co-ordinate or are directly involved in the wish. Wishes may be fulfilled in the hospital, or office or at a Wish Day.
