The receipt generated here cannot be used by the donor to claim tax deduction. As part of increased transparency and compliance regulations, the revised Income Tax Act 1961 and the Foreign Contribution Regulations (FCRA) 2010 now require all NGOs to submit a Statement of Donations in Form 10BD annually. This information will generate the donation receipt 10BE (in May) which donors can use to avail of the tax-deduction.

To comply with these regulations, all donors need to submit their details and additional information such as PAN Card and passport/nationality details to ensure proper donor identification (local/foreign).
