SKATING AWAY HOME WITH A PLAY STATION…
Sahil Rajendrabhai Sura is an 11 year old Skating Champion from Udaipur. A national level skater, Sahil has won many awards in this sport. He has also been awarded for his tour on skates from Udaipur to Delhi with his team in 10 days. A fan of Bret Lee…. is generally glued to Cartoon Network and loves watching Dragon Ball Z. Like many other kids of his age, even Sahil has a craze for Play Stations. His mother says that he is mostly found in a Play Station parlour in his free time. Perhaps his illness has limited his movements outside home and the passion to skate was again in the list of ‘don’ts’. And guess what…the obvious choice turned out to be the wish to have a Play Station. On Children's Day his wish was granted by Make-A-Wish® Foundation of India, Ahmedabad. Now he won’t have to go to a game parlour outside since he has his very own personal Play Station at home.
Harmonium who changed Jayashree Paul's life
Jayashree was a very quite and sober girl who was always seen alone and kept all by her self. When our volunteers approached her she did not talk much to them except for the initial greetings. She would only answer to what ever was asked to her and then keep quite until another question was asked. Our volunteers at times ran out of questions and reasons to have an interaction with her. One day while talking to her our volunteers heard her sing a tune. When they asked her about it she said that she was very fond of music and was particularly fond of a harmonium which she would like to have for herself. Our volunteers then took her to the music store where she could try the various models of harmoniums and finally she chose the one that she found most comfortable to operate. She was very happy to have her own harmonium and thanked the foundation and volunteers for fulfilling her wish.
Recently the foundation received a call from her father who said that she is doing well and is playing the harmonium regularly. We were happy to hear that she is out of danger now.
